About the Role

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for services that are key to the success of Mid Kent Services, which works in partnership with Maidstone Borough Council, Swale Borough Council and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, and at a strategic level with Kent County Council. These services are key to the success of everything we do, and it will be your task to ensure that they’re accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of our staff and the public we serve.

You’ll be leading a team of around 40 highly motivated professionals and be responsible for the development and improvement of MKS’s ICT strategy. Your focus will be on identifying and implementing creative new ideas and ensuring that the decisions you make are considered from the end-user’s perspective. You’ll also use all your interpersonal and influencing skills as you act as an inspirational change agent.

We’ll expect you to work closely with senior colleagues and stakeholders in MKS and its partners, and ensure that resources, processes, training, and ICT systems are coordinated as you help to drive improvements in the delivery of our services.

This is a full-time position on a permanent contract.

About You

With a degree in ICT or a related subject, you’ll appreciate the potential of technological applications to improve customer services and have a proven track record of implementing transformational change.

It’s important that you have a high level of financial planning and budget management acumen, and in addition to detailed knowledge of local government services and structures, you’ll have worked at a senior level in an ICT or Digital team.

You’ll be working with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders, so you’ll have superb interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to motivate your team while maximising their potential.

Selection Process:
